Product Description
These floor sanding screens are commonly used for coatings repair on wood, gym, or painted floor surfaces. Each screen has a diameter of 20", and can be used on both sides. They fit on any 20" floor buffer machine. Just use the screens with a 20" white pad to attach to the bottom of the pad driver. They come in a variety of grades from 60 grit (Extra Aggressive) to 150 grit (Ultra Fine). To achieve the best floor finish, you should progress from the most aggressive screens to the least aggressive. The grit you need to start off with depends on the current condition of your floor and the process you are completing.
The 60 grit extra aggressive sanding screens are commonly used as an initial pad to "rough up" your wood floor before moving on to the less aggressive screens to smooth out your floor until you get the results you are looking for.
The 80 grit aggressive screens are less abrasive than the 60 grit screens, and can either be used as a starter screen to even out a rough wood floor or as the next step down after using the 60 grit screens.
The 100 grit fine screens should be used after prepping the floor with either the 60 or 80 grit sand screens, and are primarily used to smooth out scratches.
The 120 grit extra fine screens are used for very fine sanding and finishing work. They will only remove very light scratches and are often used to buff between coats of finish.
The 150 grit ultra fine screens are commonly used to sand wood floors down to a fine finish to produce a nice smooth surface.
Screens should be rinsed and hung to dry after use to prolong sanding life. Rinsing the screens removes debris and build up in the screen, allowing for a cleaner cutting surface.
*Please Note: This product is not recommended for use on epoxy floors.
