Product Description
These 150-grit sand screens are used for finishing and are basically sandpaper on a small grid-like sheet. Each sand screen simply attaches to the bottom of a normal 17" floor scrubbing pad. When a urethane-coated floor gets scuffed, a new layer of urethane may need to be put down. The floor needs to be prepared first. Using a 60-grit floor sanding screen, go over the floor quickly. You do not need to remove a lot of material, just the very top layer of the coating. You should not sand down to the wood!
Vacuum up all of the dust. Repeat with an 80-grit sand screen. Almost all dust and particulate should be recovered by our floor sanding machine with vacuum kit. For the dust that is missed, vacuum and damp mop the floor to ensure all dust is removed. You may repeat this procedure with a 100, 120, or this 150-grit sand screen, depending on how fine you want the floor. This uniform scuff allows the new coating to adhere properly to the floor. Put down a new urethane coating following product instructions.
*Please Note: This product is not recommended for use on epoxy floors.
